These two routes offer alternative ways of receiving feedback, communicating with tutor and authenticating work.

Our Live route has been carefully designed around the needs of neurodiverse learners. By building individual 1:1 communication into the course, no child is ever required to speak aloud during a group video call.

Our live group sessions provide opportunity for observation and support, with learners able to engage with these in whichever way feels most comfortable for them. Those who are happy to receive feedback or communicate openly within the group environment can do so, while others may prefer to work independently with their mic off, utilizing the private tutor chat if/when needed. All learners can then access 1:1 support outside of the group setting to discuss their individual projects either via a 1:1 video call tutorial or via other online platforms. 

Our Live Route allows for a lot of creative freedom. We take time to get to know our students - their hobbies, interests, strengths and weaknesses - and then support them each in creating a portfolio that is completely original to their peers and reflects them as an individual. As well as subject content, they have complete freedom of choice over the materials/media they wish to specialise in. As well as painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking, we have directed students through creating Fine Art projects with a focus on comic book design, animation, anime, manga, fashion design, architecture, conceptual installation, land art, textiles, graffiti…. and many more!

Our Non-Live route has been designed specifically for learners who may find even attending a video call with their mic off a barrier to learning. As this route is delivered through pre-recorded sessions and structured weekly tasks, it naturally offers less scope for creative freedom than our Live course. Learners are still given opportunities to make personal choices, develop their own responses and bring individuality to their work; however, the overall direction and range of choices are more structured and the projects will be designed around traditional 2D media including different forms of painting, drawing and printmaking.  

This approach is best suited to learners who prefer to have clear structure and less ambiguity.

  • Cost: £55/month

    • One live group online session (1 hour) per week

    • One 1:1 video tutorial (fortnightly - 20 mins)*

    • Ongoing support & feedback via online platforms

  • Ongoing support and feedback via Tutor chat & online platforms

FAQs

  • There is no minimum or maximum age! However, if you wish for a child under the age of 14 to start the GCSE or a child under the age of 16 to start the A Level please do get in touch to discuss this first.

  • It is important that the learners attend the online lessons live due to examination regulations and the need for me to confirm that the student's work is their own.

  • Payment plans can be set up in different ways to make the course affordable. You can choose to pay for the course as a whole, termly, or the total cost of the course can be split over 15/18 months (depending if GCSE or A Level). As the charged lessons only take place during term time, splitting the total cost over 15/18 months can help to spread the cost.

  • It is a misconception that one needs to be able to create drawings and paintings that look like photographs to be 'good at art'. The wonderful thing about Art is that it can be so many different things. Technical skills can be taught. What's much more important is motivation, creative thinking skills and a genuine interest in the subject.
